R.I.P Praverb

People use the internet and social sites for all manner of things, good and bad. Praverb used his time on the internet to help rally the Hip-Hop community, primarily the independent artist. His passing has stunned us all and I am saddened by his passing.

While I never met Earl face to face, we became friends online rather quickly, with Hip-Hop being a common bond. I have dabbled in the music industry for years and at times find myself feeling super jaded! I realize that as an artist I have to continually immerse myself in the industry as a whole as well as the culture and community of Hip-Hop.

Earl was one of the few people whose work and insights into the music made sense to me. He reached out to me and reassured me that I was not on a fools errand by continuing my music. He let me know that he thought my EP project was dope and he encouraged me to continue the mission. He checked on us here at Rap Critics regularly and gave me a big push by including me on his "Ultimate Hip-Hop Blogs" list. I returned the favor and have Praverb listed as one of the few true comrades of Rap Critics! I can't say enough about this list. (If you are a independent musician and you have not bookmarked his site, you need to do so right now!) Our friendship was just getting started!

It's rare to find people who truly get what this Hip-Hop thing is all about. Earl was one of them and he unselfishly shared all the infrmation he had with anyone who asked for help. I am inspired by your work and thankful for your advice and leadership! Rest In Power!
