MC Serch spoke to VladTV about how Pete Nice's line on "The Gas Face," where he said, "The cactus turned Hammer's mother out," led to MC Hammer allegedly putting a hit out on him and the group. Serch explained the personal and professional reasons why they dissed Hammer, which involved Hammer's diss to Run DMC.
MC Serch went on to explain how The Rollin 60's Crips were offered $50,000 to take out the group, which was mediated by Mike Concepcion, a prominent member of the group. Despite having one of Mike's men with them for protection, Serch explained how the group was tried several times while they were in L.A. for their album release party. He also explained how the situation has affected him his entire life and led him to work things out in therapy.

“Tales From The City Of Refuge” ep - Q.Rock639 available now on Bandcamp
Music producer and DJ, Q.Rock639 releases a EP project, with some of his older, unreleased tracks as well as a few new songs. Q.Rock639 has been involved in the music scene for a while, navigating the industry at various levels.
Since his start in the late 90’s, Q.Rock has evolved from DJ to rapper to the producer to engineer. Now, he finds himself in Los Angeles, juggling responsibilities as a musician and entrepreneur. His music output has suffered as a result, but all that stops now with this latest release!
“Tales From The City Of Refuge” is a short collection of songs that are “in the works” as Q says. In his own words “I’m tired of fussing over mixes in my bedroom and rehearsal studio. The mixes will never been completely done, in my opinion. Even when I think I have a sound that I like dialed in, I will change my mind in a few weeks and want to remix it or change everything, and that is also counterproductive. So I plan on releasing as much as possible, work in progress style.
I dump my early reference mixes on Soundcloud and YouTube, just to get a buzz going, then put them out on retail platforms like Spotify. Plan on future remixes for everything I work on.” DIY is the name of the game here!
The ep has nine cuts, all produced by Q.Rock639 except for “Same Old Story”, which is produced by Dekastro for Dekastro Music. The songs subject matter stick to the script, women, weed and personal woes. Q.Rock639 blends lyrical styles and beats, ranging from dancehall reggae to boom bap lyricism. Q.Rock639 plans on more releases to come this year as well.

Experiencing events that would break the best of us, the 21-year-old rapper emerged as the next in a long line of Philly rap champs.
