Sleepy Rose - Georgia feat. 2 Chainz [Official Music Video]

T.R.U. (The Real University) recording artist Sleepy Rose drops new single “Georgia” featuring GRAMMY® Award-winning rapper, 2 Chainz today. The track pays homage to the “Peach State” – the place they both call home. Produced by Lamar “WomaticTracks” Womack and Bizzy Genius, “Georgia” ft. 2 Chainz is now available to stream and download at all major DSPs and streaming services HERE. Watch the official companion video HERE, directed by Sam Green.

During halftime of tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, “Georgia” will witness the debut performances of the anthem at the first Atlanta Hawks’ Peachtree Night. Sleepy Rose and 2 Chainz will hit the court during the televised halftime show donning special-edition Hawk’s gear.  The two will join the entire T.R.U. roster – including Skooly, Worl, and Hott LockedN – during the post-game show.

T.R.U. made its official presentation with Sleepy Rose’s single “Shoot It Out,” which features label-head and mentor 2 Chainz alongside Worl and Hott LockedN.  “Shoot It Out” acted as the introductory from the recently announced partnership between T.R.U. and Atlantic Records. Produced by Hitmaka (Drake, Meek Mill), the single and its official video showcase each individual artist’s strengths while setting the table for a compilation album due next year. Skooly would offer additional context on what to expect on the upcoming project in his new single “Pop Off”.

2 Chainz first introduced the T.R.U. brand with 2011’s seminal mixtape, T.R.U. REALIGION, followed the next year by his RIAA platinum certified, GRAMMY® Award-nominated solo debut, BASED ON A T.R.U. STORY, and further developed over the course of eleven trailblazing mixtapes and five solo albums. In 2019, the acclaimed ATL superstar officially founded the T.R.U. label, teaming with Atlantic Records with a goal of formally presenting a new vanguard of Atlanta-based hip-hop talent.

“Our A&R showed me Sleepy Rose,” recalls 2 Chainz of Sleep Rose. “I was seeing the visuals and hearing the music. I noticed he had the look, but he really had the music. He came from nothing, and I knew he could make an impact.”

“I can go deep in any song,” Sleepy Rose says of his style. “I’ve got melody and singing, but I also love to rap. I just want to represent a storyline with these flows. Everybody might get something different out of them.”

ABOUT SLEEPY ROSE
Roses bloom under the influence of the environment. A tough and turbulent upbringing in the Atlanta neighborhood of Godby Road-Old National College Park molded Sleepy Rose and encouraged him to blossom into a formidable MC who translates his struggles into stories. Locked up for two years, he started rapping by tapping out a beat anywhere—from on his chest to the doors and walls of the jail. Upon his release, he turned heads with his first YouTube upload “Gangsta.” Following the death of his sister whom the family referred to as Rose, he tattooed a rose on his face in tribute and also as a reminder “We rose up out of the gutterA rose keeps going high too.”

He sharpened a signature sound punctuated by local lingo on “Where You From,” “Striking,” and “Mhmm.” Growing up on the same block as Hott LockedN, 2 Chainz flew both MCs to Los Angeles for an explosive session and signed them both to T.R.U. (The Real University) in 2019.

Kano - Can't Hold We Down (feat. Popcaan) - E01

KANO has dropped the video for “Can’t Hold We Down” featuring Popcaan, taken from his acclaimed sixth studio album HOODIES ALL SUMMER.

Underlined by a galvanising melody, “Can’t Hold We Down” is a celebratory anthem anchored by Kano’s musical heritage, featuring a passion-rich chorus from dancehall star Popcaan on a track brimming with defiance and hope.

The two-part video chronicles Kano’s connection with Jamaica. The trailer/documentary segment (which launched yesterday) sees Kano going through old family photos and reflect on good times had there, discussing his love for the culture and how he came to meet and work with Popcaan. The video features appearances from family, friends and collaborators including Giggs, Lethal Bizzle, Ghetts and of course Popcaan.

Public Enemy Documentary! Rare feat.Russell Simmons,Spike Lee, KRS,Bobby Seal, Will Smith and more

Public Enemy - A Rare Piece! (Feat. Russell Simmons,Spike Lee, KRS,Bobby Seal, Will Smith and more) A rare documentary on the Greatest Hip Hop Group in History, Public Enemy (Chuck D., Flavor Flav, Terminator X, Professor Griff and the S1Ws) and their unique sound and deep influence in Black culture... Appearances and Comments by...Russell Simmons, Alan Light, Hank Shocklee, Spike Lee, KRS One of Boogie Down Productions, Ice Cube (Lench Mob), Bobby Seale (Black Panther), Grand Master Flash, Armond White, Dr. Cornell West, Jam Master Jay (Run D.M.C.), Max Roach, Omar Bin Hassan (The Last Poets), Scott Ian(Anthrax), The Fresh Prince (Will Smith), Whodini, Geronimo and the S1W's top 10 reading materials. A tribute to the golden age and the innovators of Hip Hop! My collection of music videos, exclusives and interviews. SUBSCRIBE NOW!!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/MMMVintag... Public Enemy is an American hip hop group consisting of Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff and his S1W group, DJ Lord (DJ who replaced Terminator X in 1999), and Music Director Khari Wynn. Formed in Long Island, New York, in 1982, Public Enemy is known for their politically charged lyrics and criticism of the American media, with an active interest in the frustrations and concerns of the African American community. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Public Enemy number 44 on its list of the Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Acclaimed Music ranks them the 29th most recommended musical act of all time and the highest hip-hop group. The group was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2007. The band were announced as inductees for the 2013 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on December 11, 2012, making them the fourth hip-hop act to be inducted after Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-DMC and the Beastie Boys. Formation and early years (1982--1986) Developing his talents as an MC with Flavor Flav while delivering furniture for his father's business, Chuck D (Carlton Douglas Ridenhour) and Spectrum City, as the group was called, released the record "Check Out the Radio", backed by "Lies", a social commentary—both of which would influence RUSH Productions' Run-D.M.C. and Beastie Boys. Chuck D put out a tape to promote WBAU (the radio station where he was working at the time) and to fend off a local MC who wanted to battle him. He called the tape Public Enemy #1 because he felt like he was being persecuted by people in the local scene. This was the first reference to the notion of a public enemy in any of Chuck D's songs. The single was created by Chuck D with a contribution by Flavor Flav, though this was before the group Public Enemy was officially assembled. Around 1986, Bill Stephney, the former Program Director at WBAU, was approached by Ali Hafezi and offered a position with the label. Stephney accepted, and his first assignment was to help fledgling producer Rick Rubin sign Chuck D, whose song "Public Enemy Number One" Rubin had heard from Andre "Doctor DrĂ©" Brown. According to the book The History of Rap Music by Cookie Lommel, "Stephney thought it was time to mesh the hard-hitting style of Run DMC with politics that addressed black youth. Chuck recruited Spectrum City, which included Hank Shocklee, his brother Keith Shocklee, and Eric "Vietnam" Sadler, collectively known as the Bomb Squad, to be his production team and added another Spectrum City partner, Professor Griff, to become the group's Minister of Information. With the addition of Flavor Flav and another local mobile DJ named Terminator X, the group Public Enemy was born." According to Chuck, The S1W, which stands for Security of the First World, "represents that the black man can be just as intelligent as he is strong. It stands for the fact that we're not third-world people, we're first-world people; we're the original people [of the earth]." Public Enemy started out as opening acts for the Beastie Boys during the latter's Licensed to Ill popularity, and in 1987 released their debut album Yo! Bum Rush The Show. Over the next few years, Public Enemy released It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Fear of a Black Planet, and Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black. In addition to ushering in the golden age of hip hop, during this time, Public Enemy reached the height of their popularity, adulation, and controversy. The group then separated from Def Jam and has since been independently producing, marketing, and publishing their music.

Method Man explains the meaning of the "Dead Eye" He wears! Interview

Method Man explains the meaning of the "Dead Eye" He wears! Rap City
A tribute to the golden age and the innovators of Hip Hop! My collection of music videos, exclusives and interviews. SUBSCRIBE NOW!!!! http://www.youtube.com/user/MMMVintag... Clifford Smith (born March 2, 1971),[1] better known by his stage name Method Man, is an American hip hop recording artist from Staten Island, New York. A rapper, record producer and actor, Method Man is perhaps best known as a member of the East Coast hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. He took his stage name from the 1979 film The Fearless Young Boxer, also known as Method Man. He is one half of the hip hop duo Method Man & Redman. In 1996, he won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, for "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By" with Mary J. Blige. Method Man appeared in the motion pictures Belly, How High, Garden State as well as a minor role in The Wackness, and Venom. More recently, he appeared as a crewman in George Lucas' film Red Tails. On television, he and frequent collaborator Redman, co-starred on the short-lived Fox sitcom Method & Red, and he had a recurring role on HBO's Oz, as Tug Daniels and as Calvin "Cheese" Wagstaff on the HBO drama series The Wire.[2] In 2007, the writers of About.com placed him on their list of the Top 50 MCs of Our Time (1987--2007).[3] In 2012, The Source placed him on their list of the Top 50 Lyricists of All Time 1992--96: Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and Tical As Wu-Tang Clan ascended to hip hop stardom, Method Man was always one of the most visible members of the collective. He was one of only two members to get a solo song on the group's debut album Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers and he was the first to release a solo album under the Clan's unusual contract which allowed its members to release albums under any record label (Method chose to sign with rap label Def Jam). Method Man's solo debut, Tical (1994) was critically acclaimed and well received, entering the American charts at #4 and eventually selling in excess of one million copies. That album featured the hit single "All I Need" which was later remixed featuring Mary J. Blige, which won a Grammy (I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need). During this time Method Man also became close friends with fellow New York City-based rapper The Notorious B.I.G., and was the only guest rapper featured on his debut album Ready to Die. He was also featured on Spice 1's album "AmeriKKKa's Nightmare" on the track "Hard 2 Kill". In 1995, he was also featured on "Got the Flava" off Showbiz and A.G.'s album Goodfellas. In 1996, Method Man appeared on Tupac Shakur's album All Eyez on Me, on the song "Got My Mind Made Up" alongside his rhyme partner Redman, The Dogg Pound (Daz and Kurupt) and Inspectah Deck, whose verse did not make the released album version (although his nickname "Rebel INS" can be heard as the song fades). He was also featured on Redman's 1996 Album "Muddy Waters" on the track "Do What Ya feel".
