"A West Memphis police sergeant pulled the eastbound bus over for doing 70 mph in a 65 mph on I-40 about 9 p.m., according to police.
"When the driver opened the door, it just reeked of marijuana," said West Memphis police chief Bob Paudert, whose son made the traffic stop.
Officers herded all eight passengers and the driver off the bus.
A search led to the discovery of plastic bags that contained marijuana and Ecstasy, and sealed envelopes containing more than $8,000 in cash.
Police believe those arrested were affiliated with a hip-hop group, although they didn't know which one. "Nobody seems to know them," Paudert said. "I think ... they're just an opening act for somebody."

DMX RIOT Pt. 2 IN COLORADO SPRINGS SHOW! MACAATIC TV HIGH QUALITY BEST VERSION
The Truth About DMX Riot In Colorado with YouTube Videos
taken from Rap Weekly.com
"From the desk of CEO/Owner of Dirty Limelight/Hustle Hard Records – J. Baldrick “DIRTY”.
Since the night of the DMX show, many people have been asking us: “What happened?”. This blog is to let all know from our standpoint what in fact did happen. Just in case you didn’t know, Soulclay Ent. and American Charities booked DMX and several opening acts including Hustle Hard Records, Black Pegasus, MacAatic Crew, Ti’Jean, Mister Money and DJ MystrE to perform a charity event/concert Friday, Oct 16th 2009. After all opening acts, DMX was supposed to perform. He in fact did not..
For those there, you may have noticed that DMX did in fact show up and more importantly, was EAGER to get on stage to the point where he had to get aggressive with security to get on stage. Sadly, he couldn’t even get on the mic to tell the people what in fact did happen, because the sound was already cut. Why was security trying to keep DMX off stage? Why was the sound cut? Why didn’t he perform? Plain and simple, he wasn’t paid his remaining balance by Soulclay Entertainment. Soulclay Entertainment’s “plan” was to pay DMX from ticket sales from the box office, the day of. More importantly, DMX fought with security (with the help of fans and artists) to get on stage to not only perform but also to let everybody know what’s up…"

Lootpack - Crate Diggin'
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lootpack is an American hip hop group signed to Stones Throw Records. Though they were together since high school, Lootpack - Madlib, Wildchild, and DJ Romes - made their first appearance on the 1993 debut album by Tha Alkaholiks, 21 & Over.
The first vinyl by Lootpack, Ill Psych Move EP, was released in 1996 on a label named Crate Digga's Palace founded by Madlib's father, Otis Jackson Sr. After this 12" they caught the attention of Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf, producer and DJ. Eventually the three of them signed for Stones Throw leading to their 1999 release of Soundpieces: Da Antidote.

DJ Romes released the Hamburger Hater Breaks record in 2001, Madlib has produced concept albums as Quasimoto and Yesterdays New Quintet. Johnson Interview by Jason Gross (January 1997)
http://www.furious.com/perfect/lkj.html
YOU MADE A QUOTE ONCE THAT YOU THOUGHT THAT BOB MARLEY HAD WATERED DOWN HIS MUSIC AND HIS MESSAGE ONCE HE SIGNED TO A BIG LABEL.
I know. I'm afraid I'll have to live with that statement. That was when I was in my more furious frame of mind. But I regret having said that because it's not really true. I believe that the music was internationalized to reach a greater audience but I don't think it effected his message in any way.
Taken from Wikipedia
Most of Johnson's poetry is political, dealing mainly with the experiences of being an African-Caribbean in Britain, "Writing was a political act and poetry was a cultural weapon...",[3] he told an interviewer in 2008. However, he has also written about other issues, such as British foreign policy or the death of anti-racist marcher Blair Peach. His most celebrated poems were written during the government of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The poems contain graphic accounts of the alleged racist police brutality occurring at the time (cf. Sonny's Lettah). Johnson's poetry makes clever use of the un standardised transcription of Jamaican Patois.

Strong Arm Steady "Get Ya Money Right" mp3 and "Loose Girl" video
Strong Arm Steady-Loose Girl
Taken from Strong Arm Steady Stones Throw page
The upcoming Stoney Jackson LP is produced entirely by Madlib, longtime friend of Phil Da Agony and extended Strong Arm Steady family. The album’s conception owes a great deal to World Famous Beat Junkie, J.Rocc, who provided the trio with close to 200 of the prolific beatsmith’s tracks to choose from, and also aided in naming the project after one of the most popular jheri curl-topped actors of all time. Strong Arm Steady had previously rapped over Madlib productions on 2007’s Deep Hearted and on the Madlib and Talib Kweli Liberation album, but this full-length marks a long-desired collaboration between the four. It’s a hip-hop jam session, with the group acting as the rhythm section for an all-star cast of guest vocalists such as Planet Asia, Guilty Simpson, Evidence, Chase Infinite, and Phonte of Little Brother.

LA, CA----- Strong Arm Steady is a West Coast super-group, consisting of the cream of California’s underground hip-hop scene, namely Phil the Agony, Mitchy Slick and Krondon. Over the years, Strong Arm Steady has toured relentlessly and pounded the mixtape circuit for years, independently distributing over 200,000 mixtapes worldwide. SAS has become the staple sound of the new West Coast movement.
Strong Arm Steady’s debut album, Deep Hearted, (featuring Chamillionaire, Juvenile, Black Thought of The Roots, Xzibit, Talib Kweli, Dilated Peoples, Ras Kass and more) is the culmination of years of hard work. Their never ending grind and consistent track record of creating great music shows why Strong Arm Steady is a force to be reckoned with.

SKYZOO "THE BEAUTIFUL DECAY" Music Video
taken from Hip Hop Wired.com
"Music Review: Skyzoo - "The Salvation" by JUSTIN STEWART October 5, 2009, 10:29am
Brooklyn has become the breeding grounds for lyrical talent within the Hip-Hop regime of music. From Big Daddy Kane to Notorious B.I.G. to Jay-Z, the city has birthed many legends in its day and has up-and-comers by the likes of Maino, Red Café and Joell Ortiz trying to etch their own carvings in the history of Brooklyn.
Heavily under the radar as it related to the mainstream world, but consistently on his grind, Skyzoo is yet another rapper cut from that same cloth. Staking his position in the game with the critically acclaimed 2007 mixtape Corner Store Classic and recently linking with DJ Drama to release The Power of Words, the rapper has made a point to keep everything vintage Hip-Hop and strip away all of the unnecessary. He is not the generic flashy type; strictly hard hitting real life lyrics showcasing the fact that he is not about making gimmick records."

BRYAN TURNERS' MELEE ENTERTAINMENT AND SHARIFF HASAN PRODUCTIONS TEAM UP FOR "JERKIN'" DANCE FILM
Los Angeles CA September 3, 2009 -- Melee Entertainment, the producers behind the hit "You Got Served," and Shariff Hasan Productions are teaming up to produce the first feature film about the dance movement "Jerkin" that is exploding around the world. Producers on the project are Bryan Turner, Scott Aronson, and Mike Regen from Melee along with Shariff Hasan, Todd Moscowitz, and Mike Mavrolas.
The "Jerkin"movement has been the focus recently of several high profile news stories including a feature in the Los Angeles Times, a cover story in the L.A. Weekly, and a feature on ABC News. Dancing is just one component of "Jerkin" as it also encompasses music, fashion, entrepreneurship and positive affirmation among African American, Latino, and Caucasian teenagers
"Jerkin" dance crews and music groups are now in every city in the United States and the movement has spread around the world with crews in Japan, France, Germany, Australia, China, Mexico and Canada. Page views on YouTube for "Jerkin" dance crews and music have reached over 300 million hits. The song "You're a Jerk" by the New Boyz is currently #25 on the pop charts and has sold over 500,000 ringtones and downloads.
"Jerkin"was started by inner city teens in Los Angeles who needed an alternative to the gang culture that was decimating their neighborhoods. Instead of wearing baggy pants and white t-shirts, they started wearing skinny jeans and bright colors to differentiate themselves from gang members so they could avoid altercations and profiling from the police.
"This is music, fashion, and culture in the heart of the internet generation"said Bryan Turner. It's hip hop reinventing itself before our eyes and the driving force is the most powerful medium of all "the streets"
Shariff Hasan noted, "Because the Jerkin movement is anti-gang, it is the first time in human history where youth culture is rebelling against itself."
Melee is coming off of the recent success of "Next Day Air" which grossed over $10 million theatrically and bows on DVD on September 13th. In addition to the "Jerkin" film, Melee will also be going into production shortly on its thriller "Day One".
Todd Moscowitz is president of Asylum Records which is at the forefront of signing "Jerkin" music acts like the New Boyz. Hasan is an indie film maker who was teaching entrepreneurship in inner city schools and saw the Jerkin Culture first hand and wanted to get involved at it's earliest stages. Mavrolas is the manager of the New Boyz.
