L'Orange & Jeremiah Jae - After Alley Life (Official Video)

L'Orange and Jeremiah Jae have unveiled a new song and video from their sophomore album Complicate Your Life With Violence, out October 4 (Mello Music Group).

"After Alley Life" is a surrealist look at a vet’s post-war flashbacks and daily life as a civilian, as animated by Eric Power. It’s a continuation of the album’s neo-noir influences and storyline. “Get washed away, the time to play is dead / Can’t aim for peace, they aiming at ya head,” Jae raps.

Complicate Your Life With Violence follows a three-part story of recruitment, war, and its subsequent dark effects set to a dusty, twangy and menacing musical backdrop produced by L’Orange and Jeremiah Jae, joined by guests Chester Watson, Lojii and Zeroh, and billy woods.

The new album drops October 4th on Mello Music Group.

Skyzoo & Pete Rock - It's All Good (Official Music Video)

2Pac - When My Homies Call (Live Performance)

2 Pac -When My Homies Call (Live)
Shakur's professional entertainment career began in the early 1990s, when he debuted his rapping skills in a vocal turn in Digital Underground's "Same Song" from the soundtrack to the 1991 film Nothing but Trouble and also appeared with the group in the film of the same name. The song was later released as the lead song of the Digital Underground extended play (EP) This is an EP Release, the follow-up to their debut hit album Sex Packets. Shakur appeared in the accompanying music video. After his rap debut, he performed with Digital Underground again on the album Sons of the P. Later, he released his first solo album, 2Pacalypse Now. Though the album did not generate any "Top Ten" hits, 2Pacalypse Now is hailed by many critics and fans for its underground feel, with many rappers such as Nas, Eminem, Game, and Talib Kweli having pointed to it as inspiration.[39] Although the album was originally released on Interscope Records, rights of it are now owned by Amaru Entertainment. The album's name is a reference to the 1979 film Apocalypse Now.

The album generated significant controversy. Dan Quayle criticized it after a Texas youth's defense attorney claimed he was influenced by 2Pacalypse Now and its strong theme of police brutality before shooting a state trooper. Quayle said, "There's no reason for a record like this to be released. It has no place in our society." Shakur stated that he felt he had been misunderstood.[40] He said, "I started out saying I was down for the young black male, you know, and that was gonna be my thang," Shakur said. "I just wanted to rap about things that affected young black males. When I said that, I didn't know that I was gonna tie myself down to just take all the blunts and hits for all the young black males, to be the media's kicking post for young black males. I just figured since I lived that life I could do that, I could rap about that."[41][42] The record was important in showcasing Shakur's political conviction and his focus on lyrical prowess. On MTV's Greatest Rappers of All Time list, 2Pacalypse Now was listed as one of Shakur's "certified classic" albums, along with Me Against the World, All Eyez on Me and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. 2Pacalypse Now went on to be certified Gold by the RIAA. It featured three singles; "Brenda's Got a Baby", "Trapped", and "If My Homie Calls".

His second studio album, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., was released in February 1993. The album did better than the previous one debuting on number 24 on the Billboard 200. The album contains many tracks emphasizing Shakur's political and social views. This album had more commercial success than its predecessor, and there were noticeable differences in production. While Shakur's first effort had an indie-rap-oriented sound, this album was considered his "breakout" album. It spawned the hits "Keep Ya Head Up" and "I Get Around" and reached platinum status. On vinyl, Side A (tracks 1–8) was labeled the "Black Side" and Side B (tracks 9–16) the "Dark Side". It is his tenth-biggest selling album, with 1,366,000 units moved as of 2004.

ZaZa - What I Do? [Official Video]

J.LATELY - RUN [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO @justlately

Bay Area, California emcee J.Lately presents the Erica Eng-directed music video for "Run", the new single from Tuesday, his forthcoming album produced entirely by Space Cadet. The new album will also feature appearances from The Grouch (stream "Clean"), Blimes and Khyenci. Space Cadet is also the beatsmith behind half of Lately's 2017 album Be F*cking Happy (watch the "Papayas & Blunt Smoke" music video). Last year J.Lately released the "Fun's Up" single (Soundcloud), "Free" (Soundcloud) and "By My Lonely" (listen) featuring fellow Bay Area emcee Locksmith. Hailing from Sebastopol, and having split time between Oakland and Southern California, Lately has toured with Andre Nickatina, Zion I, Locksmith, and A-Plus of the Hieroglyphics, and his previous releases include "Save Yourself" featuring Blu (Soundcloud) and visuals for "I'll Be Living" ft. Demrick (Youtube) and "Breathe" (Youtube). Lately says "Run" is about "getting out of your own head and just going after what it is you know you truly want. Me and Space Cadet made this beat together the first weekend that we started working on the album. It was one of like 10 beats that we made that weekend, and I started writing to like 3 or 4 of them. Later that week I just ended up combining all the songs on this beat because I realized I was talking about the same thing in all of them. It was just really like exactly where I was at the time, and I had to get it off before I could move on. After that the whole album just kind of just flowed together from there."

STORMZY - SOUNDS OF THE SKENG

STORMZY UNVEILS NEW SINGLE
‘SOUNDS OF THE SKENG’

AVAILABLE TO STREAM/PURCHASE NOW – HERE

OVER 7 MILLION SINGLES SOLD | OVER 860 MILLION GLOBAL STREAMS

“U.K. rap sensation Stormzy is set to conquer America” – BILLBOARD

cid:image003.jpg@01D564A0.C6997B70

Fresh off being awarded ‘Solo Act Of The Year’ at this year’s British GQ ‘Man Of The Year’ Awards - andcurrently holding the number #1 chart position in the UK for his ‘Take Me Back To London’ collaboration with Ed Sheeran – multi-award-winning musician, Stormzy, has today unveiled his highly-anticipated new single, ‘Sounds Of The Skeng’.

Produced by Sir Spyro (who produced Stormzy’s 2017 hit single ‘Big For Your Boots,’ amongst others)
Sounds Of The Skeng’ is yet another supremely slick release from the modern day troubadour. With his South London flow aligning to a Grime production; Stormzy’s confidence is ever-present, with his word play retaining his well-known comedic essence.

‘Sounds Of The Skeng’ comes on the heels of ‘Crown, Stormzy’s second release in recent months which followed his remarkable return in April where he unveiled ‘Vossi Bop’, his first release since 2017. ‘Vossi Bop’ broke the record for the biggest week one streams for a British Rapper, ever, with streams accumulating to over 12.7 million! The single earnt Stormzy his first ever UK #1 single, holding the top position for two consecutive weeks!

Before Stormzy released his platinum-selling #1 debut album, ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ in February 2017, many would merely have called him one of the most promising rappers on the UK scene. Just over two years on however, that description is utterly inadequate. A showman like no other, his remarkable ascent has been accompanied by his honest and relatable character. Known for evolving the underground musical landscape, as well as being a perennial political agitator, Stormzy is a true spokesman of black empowerment and social activism. He has become one of the UK’s most inspiring cultural figures and earlier this year, d
uring his headline performance at Glastonbury Festival, he took the opportunity to highlight a plethora of social issues, including the injustice of young black children being criminalized in a biased and disproportionate justice system.

Despite being out of the ‘musical’ spotlight last year, his philanthropy continued. In July 2018 Stormzy launched ‘The Stormzy Scholarship’ – a studentship which funds the study of two black students, each year, at Cambridge University and this summer, launched its second year of the scholarship. Subsequent to the scholarship, he unveiled #Merky Books, an imprint formed in collaboration with Penguin Random House UK which saw the release of own book ‘Rise Up: The Story So Far’ in November. Shortly after he revealed the imprint’s ‘Writers’ Prize’ – an initiative which looks for the best authors of the next generation. Adding further strings to his bow, the Ghanaian MC also announced his very own music record label #Merky Records in January 2018 - a subsidiary of Atlantic Records UK – which will look to sign the hottest new and emerging talent.

Further to Stormzy’s incredible rise within his recorded music, the Croydon-born MC has also broken records in the live sphere and in June earlier this year he became the first British Rapper to ever headline Glastonbury Festival, one of the world’s biggest music festivals! Shortly after, he headed to Ibiza for his annual #Merky Festival – a 2-day event which hosts some of the UK most in-demand artists. This year the festival sold-out in 48 hours, marking the first time – in Ibiza history – for a ticketed event to have all tickets sold off of the island, prior to the event.

Building momentum with impassioned support from his devoted fan base, Stormzy is now the proud possessor of over 25 awards including; 2 x BRIT Awards, 1 x Ivor Novello Award, 6 x MOBO Awards, 1 x Q Award, 1 x MTV EMA, 1 x BBC Music Award, 1 x Teen Choice Award, 3 x AIM Awards, 2 x BET Awards, 2 x British GQ Awards, 2 x Global Awards and many more.

Skizzy Mars - Gift and a Curse feat. Yung Pinch [Official Audio]

Skizzy Mars has released his latest track, “Gift and a Curse (feat. Yung Pinch).” The track is the latest release from Skizzy since his latest album Free Skizzy Mars, which was released earlier this summer. “Gift and a Curse (feat. Yung Pinch)” marks the first collab for Skizzy and Yung Pinch – who has collaborated with the likes of YG, Lil Skies, GASHI and toured with G-Eazy. “Gift and a Curse (feat. Yung Pinch)” is available now at all DSPs and streaming services.

Free Skizzy Mars was heralded by singles “No Advice” and “Calabasas,” both joined by companion visuals. Prior to release, Skizzy sat down with Travis Mills for a Beats1 interview to discuss the album. Additionally, Skizzy recently announced plans for a headline Fall tour titled “The Free Skizzy Mars Tour,” which kicks off October 12th at New York’s Webster Hall and continues through November, wrapping in New Orleans’ The Parish Room on November 21st. Tickets for “The Free Skizzy Mars Tour” are available now. Full tour routing below. For more information visit http://skizzymars.com/tour.

Free Skizzy Mars includes some notable features by 24kGoldn on “Bayside,” now joined by companion visual, Yoshi Flower on “All The Time” and Trevor Daniel on the album closer “Afraid.”  Released earlier this year, “No Advice,” the first single off Free Skizzy Mars, marked Skizzy’s first solo material since his joint project with labelmate Prelow, I Can’t Take Me Anywhere; the 9-track collaborative project was released in November of 2018. I Can’t Take Me Anywhere follows Skizzy Mars’ last EP, “are you OK?” which includes hit singles, “2006” and “American Dream,” the latter of which was joined by a companion video that premiered onHypeBeast. “American Dream” was also featured on the soundtrack for Madden NFL 19.

NYC native, Skizzy Mars earned instant buzz with his first single, 2011’s “Douchebag,” and has since made his bones as one of contemporary rap’s most eclectic new stars. The Harlem-based MC – known to his family as Myles Mills – followed “Douchebag” with the powerful “Profound“ as well as a pair of much-talked-about mixtapes and increasingly popular live appearances as both headliner and support to such stars as G-Eazy, Logic, and Ty Dolla $ign.

Highlighted by chart-topping tracks like “Time (Ft. G-Eazy & Olivver the Kid),” “The Red Balloon Project” EP dropped in February 2015 and proved a straight-up sensation, debuting at #4 on Billboard’s “Top Rap Albums” chart before peaking at #35 on the overall SoundScan/Billboard 200. A 33-city headline tour followed, highlighted by sold out shows in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Skizzy’s own NYC.

Skizzy has also received a remarkable range of press coverage, with features in such outlets as The FaderNYLONComplexi-DPigeons & Planes, and HypeBeast, as well as an appearance on the premiere installment of XXL’s “Ante Up” podcast.
