Hosted by Intuition, the night was an impressive showing of Hip-Hop, even if the turnout was as equally stunning. For those who came and represented for the love, they were treated to some real rhymes and next level beats.
Non Human Intelligence ripped the stage with their out of this world style and catchy songs. Be on the lookout for these guys, as their video "My Favorite Alien" is making it's way across the internet and the world.
Mystic brought the crowd to the front of the stage as soon as she got on. It was hard to tell that she wasn't the headliner, as her set hit hard and had everyone feeling her vibe. She spoke on the inspiration to her music and gave us an amazingly funky good night lullaby, complete with sleepy head whispers!
Aceyalone was joined by his first rhyme partner and fellow Cali rap legend Myka Nine and they proceeded to rock the spot as well. Nocando came and joined the Blowdian heavyweights for a bit, and Acey finished off his set with promise of a new album on the way. Judging from the beats Hines Buchanan was flipping behind him, that new CD will be worth the wait!
I bumped into Dudley as he was talking to one of the promoters of the night, (Shouts to Big Illz!) and sheepishly admitted I was about to go. He laughed and said, "Man you can't go now, you held out this long! Give me a few minutes, I promise it'll be better than the interview." After reading the incredible L.A. Record interview in question, Lion's Den performance still tops it, hand's down!
I managed to miss a few performances, but did catch a few short video clips and pics. Take a look below and make sure to catch Lion's Den next month.
